Informatics Global Campus (IGC) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Informatics Education Ltd. The Group first launched its e-learning platform in 1999 as Asia’s first global e-learning institution and one of the largest outside the USA. With its commitment as a leading global e-learning education service provider, IGC harnesses the latest advances in technology for education.
With the launch of the Informatics Virtual Learning Environment, an interactive 3-D learning portal, students benefit from a virtual campus as IGC brings the learning experience to them. Students can navigate through a series of virtual rooms to attend lessons, interact with classmates and lecturers and conduct research via the e-library. Complementing the new virtual campus is a newly-introduced lesson delivery platform. Through this new platform, lessons conducted by lecturers will be streamed online and students can attend lessons via their computers and mobile devices. Recorded sessions of these lessons will also be made available to students who are unable to attend their classes due to work or other commitments, as well as for examination revision purposes. A series of tools built into the e-learning platform also allow students and lecturers to interact with one another. Now, students can learn anytime, anywhere.
A Comprehensive E-Learning Path
Armed with a portfolio of business and information technology programs, IGC has trained over 73,000 e-learners from more than 68 countries to date. Its academic programs range from Diploma and Advanced Diploma, as well as Bachelor and Master level degrees.
With a target student population of mainly working professionals and upgraders, IGC recognises that these learners have different careers and lifestyle requirements. Our learning systems are designed to cater to their individual learning needs.
As we continue to expand and enhance our flexible learning mode, three new Bachelor degree programmes have been launched to cater to a wider range of students. These include the Bachelor of Science in Business Informations Systems (both general and honours degree) and Bachelor of Science in Technology Management and Computing. Riding on the wave of the increasing number of tablet users, IGC introduced the e-publications study materials that will allow students to access the learning materials through their tablets and mobile devices for a more flexible study experience. The dynamic study materials come with notestaking, highlights, bookmarks, built-in dictionary and thesaurus, as well as direct web look-up functions.
With the Group’s extensive network of partners and channels, IGC continues reach out to knowledge seekers all over the world. A new channel via collaborative arrangements with universities and institutions in countries like Vietnam, Korea and Myanmar has been established to further expand its reach.
